I put a Borla cat-back on a V8 Dodge Dakota and it sounded sweet. I put a Borla cat-back on a '98 Pontiac GTP V6 and it sounded horrible. There was a terrible resonance (drone) in the cabin at highway speeds. How does the Borla system for the Honda V6 handle that droning issue? It was really disgusting sounding on that GTP. If the Honda system sounds like that GTP did, there is no way I would be interested.

hmm...... but when you look at that dyno, even though the HP went up, on each point on that dyno, the car is still travelling at the same speed! gains in HP, yet no gains in acceleration?

You can't draw that conclusion, as there is no TIME on the chart. Acceleration is determined by the change in velocity over time.

I would like to know the significance of the 102.2 MPH figure though!

Sx Speeder: If you are cruising along at say 50 mph in 6th gear and you change your speed to say 45-55 mph what does the car sound like? Is there any resonance (drone) or humming in the cabin? I need to know, because when I had a Borla cat-back on a Pontiac GTP V6 I used to have, this is the speed zone where it droned really bad and drove me crazy! Thanks in advance.

at 45 - 50 i wouldn't be in 6th gear, i'd be in 4th or 5th. i usually shift right around 3k when i'm driving conservativly. but to answer your question, there would be a low humming noise inside the car. i dont know how it would sound with an automatic. personally, i like the sound. and if it were to get "annoying", it's easily lost with music . it sounds like an amplified 350z, maybe a little deeper. when i really get on it, all i can hear is my intake sucking air. the sound to RPM range is about 1200 - 2800rpm. anything higher or lower than that, no noise.

Thank you. And yeah, I should have realized that you wouldn't be doing 50mph in 6th gear! I need to think about this some more, or wait till someone puts one on an automatic. Maybe let someone else be the guinea pig for a change!
