Bye Bye EGR.......

Well, not exactly, but damn close enough. As we all know the EGR system robs some power by injesting hot/dirty exhaust gases directly back into the intake. We can't remove the valve without throwing a code and we can't block it without throwing a code. If we block it the ECU throws a "Isufficent Flow" code as well as the ODB emissions monitor will show error since the ECU actually detects the lean out caused by the EGR opening and flowing exhaust back, and this is the key, the ECU does not care weather it is hot exhaust or cold/clean intake air. So I decedied to machine out a EGR Bypass Adaptor that allows us to connect eaither a breather filter or a hose connected back to the breather fitting on the intake. I just came back from a 50+ mile test drive with no codes thrown and for good mesure before I left on the drive I reset my ECU and emmissions monitors after the drive I checked and the EGR emissions monitor was happy with the bypass, so this will not effect passing emissions, and probably will pass visual if you hook a hose back into the intake.

Thanks to Shonda for jogging my brain and getting me to think of this.........

This will also work for 6th gens and K-series although the bypass connection is in a different place for Ks......

I love the above setup with that hose picking up fresh air from the hood area instead of being close to the motor's front cylinder :)

Lots of questions and comments have arose, so I need to post this. Due to the cost of materials and labor time, the price of the EGR mod is set at $100 shipped. It includes all gaskets needed, extended bolts, breather filter, 100% CNCed proprietary aluminum block, and brass barb set with high-temperature RED Loctite. This is a direct-fit mod and there should be no modification needed for installation. All items are machined on a per-motor basis and the gaskets are a perfect match. Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
This doesnt add power tho right? Just curious. It just adds fresher air?

It keeps the EGR clean that is very prone to fail and clog and it also keeps dangerous hot exhaust gases from destroying your motor. Cool air in and NEVER a CEL...issues are completely resolved...!
Here's an image of the process for you guys to see...;)!

Are these still being made? Would like to get one for my Acura TL J37A4 if that can be done.
P2r has made them specifically for the j37a4.

they have block-off plates...not what I make home slicery...don't relate my quality to those clowns.
Picked this up from NSWDoc and installed it. Pretty straight forward. I found the positioning of the air filter with a straight adaptor didn’t work for me due to some other wiring and brackets on the block so I added a 90 degree fitting.

I have also purchased the kit and am scoping out the install. My plastic engine cover has been removed (cuz it's a racecar:D)but the bracket is still there holding the connector to the O2 sensor. I think I can just cut the "ear" off the bracket and install the bypass filter without an elbow. I'm also considering where to mount the filter in a remote location...
