Trying to find a coilover that best supports street driving. I've read tons of threads on various forums on the tein ss and the omni coilovers so far and it seems like many ppl are brand loyal. From what i've read the omni street setup on the earlier gen accords and rsx seems a bit too stiff for street although they perform really well. I've personally sat in my frends TL with tein SS set at 10 clicks and they felt very nice, not bouncy or rough at all. I've been reading a bunch of stuff on the D2 coilovers that the maxima owners are praising. Has anyone considered D2?

i got them today, install tomorrow. the good thing with d2 is that you can get custom spring rates, so they can be as stiff or as soft as you want them.

i got the contact info for the guy who sells them so AIM me and ill let you know

D2's are promising to be the next best thing with their monotube high pressure design shocks, custom spring rates, 36-way adjustable dampening and pimp color I see they will be making their way mainstream very very soon.

Here are a few pics of Owace's after we install them tomorrow we'll take more pics and post em up and give you reviews

Those are so much better then the Tein basic's no doubt. They would be as good if not better then the Tein SS to tell you the truth. I can't wait to see your cars once you guys install them Owace and av6vtec.

How do you adjust the spring rates? Or is it that they have different springs w/ different rates and you just have to change them out? Where can I buy them?

You can get them off ebay for around $900-1000, some places i seen on the net range from $1100-1700 but nobody should/better not pay that price! We got ours for $850 shipped but we can't disclose the name of the place yet until a few things are resolved. Yes the springs are just swapped out to change rates, and I believe that you can get sets of 2 for $50.

EDIT:
OwAce get's slammed on D2's

D2s are relatively cheap too right?
I heard good things about them.

so you got ur typical clunking and noises from a coilover system, i guess i have to wait for it to settle down completely. the car is riding 1/4 turn from full stiff and the car is definately very stiff. car has a lot of bump steer (the entire car travels with the wheel when it dips).

im thinking that the shop i bought them from sparkracing F--ed up and send me the wrong spring rates ( i asked for 8:6) i think i got 12:9. or something like that.

in anycase these are nice and im going to adjust the stifness down a little bit hoping that helps with the slightly rough ride.

the car is mad slammed and before the alignment the car was oversteering all over the place. as of now it rides nice and i cant wait to do the final adjustments on it.

i know the person who imports them directly from taiwan. so pm me for any info. i would also check out the thread over on honda-tech that compares these to the omni power coilovers.

as far as price goes, i think me and cleveland got a great deal, at 850 shipped. however that got sparkracings ass canned and now they arent a authorised dealer anymore. the best deal i have so far is from the guy who is the direct importer.

these coilovers compare driectly with tein flex. not ss. they have pillowball mounts and also the top hat. (so no replacing them with the oem ones). the shock body is also adjustable. so the springs are zero preloaded. you dont need to adjust the spring sleeve.

you can google them d2 racing and chek out their australian website.

I WOULD highly highly highly recommend the d2s if you dont have climate conditions that stay below -5 centigrade for more than several months at a time.

lets just put it this way

i am dropped on d2s, with the damping set to FULL STIFF. we have 32 levels of dampoing in total.

my spring rates are 8k in the front, 6 k in the rear. (tein is 9f, 6r).

today i had my boss and a coworker (girl) in my car.

they commented on how smooth the ride was going down the parking ramp and on the roads and highways, they were shocked how the car absorbed bumps and took dips realy really well.

with only me in it, the car ride does get a little rough but that is because i set my dampin high.

they are great coilovers and are available in custom spring rates.

i can look into finding out the cheapest rate adn can let yall know if you interested.
