I'm looking for a good set of 6" subs to replace my sisters 6x9's. i only want woofers and not a coax speaker. these used to be quite common, but i never see any of them anymore. do these still exist? if not, how about some 6x9 woofers? she's not concerned about rear fill and does not have a room in the trunk. i think this would be the best option. any suggestions? if even this is not feasible.. how about some deep hitting 6x9's and i can just use the crossover on the amp to tune out the highs? thanks in advance.

Well do you mean subs or midbass? I know CDT has some really nice midbass 6" speakers. Not coaxial. I used them for my ''rearfill'' and they worked out pretty well until I upgraded to 3 way set in front. Also look around on ebay, because I'm sure you can still find some 6" subs like JL Audio. Not sure, but maybe kicker has some 6" subs as well? I know they have this 6x9 midbass so maybe you want to check that out. I still think that by far, boston acoustic pro series are the best speakers I have heard in person. Maybe ou should take a look at their RM9's as well. They are 6x9's, but with the right amount of power, they are unbelievably clean and have great midbass as well.

yeah, i did happen to see a set of IDQ 6" on ebay.. extremely rare, but i missed the auction because i was at work. those would have been perfect. i've got focal polykevlars for my sister running of an a/d/s amp, but i need some low end in the back and she doesn't want a sub. do you know the quality of lanzar? there was some 6x9 woofers on ebay for $39.99...

I've seen lanzar in magazines, but haven't really heard about them too much. My guess is that they SHOULD do the job with the right installation. Just make sure that she doesn't over play them and distort them like crazy. First see what their limits are before handing them to your sister. That way you can mess around with the settings so that maybe her or some of her friends don't distort th crap out of them. Why not just get like an 8" sub or just one 10"? I have one 12" in mine and it sounds great. Not too much and not too little.
