I just bought a 7thgen accord v6 and it has 176k miles and the clutch has never been replaced, but as of now the clutch does not slip and is wonderul , but I was wondering how long will it last me

I wouldn't count on it lasting longer than 200k. There's people on here that have gone that long but at 176k you are definitely looking at a replacement sooner rather than later.

It really depends...

I replaced my clutch at about 110K miles, mostly because of the hard clutch pedal after a high RPM pull problem. But it was pretty close to the rivets when I pulled it out.

Later (at about 185K miles) I had a bearing go out in my tranny, so I replaced it with a unit from a yard with much less miles on it. When it was out I checked the wear on the clutch material, and it was within "new" specs. So after ~75K miles of careful use, there was no appreciable wear. (I drive it hard/fast, but I don't do burnouts or clutch dumps.)

I would say that the length of the clutch life is entirely dependent on how it was driven during its life. All it takes is for someone to rest their foot on the clutch pedal to destroy a clutch in very few miles. Or drag racing clutch dumps. But if it's done correctly, it should last a LONG time.

If you plan on having this car for a while, as in more than a few months, I would count on replacing the clutch or having it replaced. Assuming this is the factory clutch, it's likely near the end of its life. Preventive maintenance is that which we do BEFORE something fails; corrective maintenance is that which we do AFTER it fails :(

If you're up to the task, there are write-ups on how to replace the clutch. If you are not looking forward to the task, save up and have it replaced at a reputable shop or dealer. It really sucks to have an otherwise mechanically sound car leave you sitting on the side of the road because the clutch disk has finally been consumed... speaking from experience here!

To drive the point home: about 8 months ago I did a 6 speed manual swap on my old 6th gen Accord, a 2000 EX. It got a brand new clutch with the swap. A few weeks ago I pulled the old J30 and swapped in a J35... my clutch was only 8 months old and yet I replaced it anyway. I'm not trying to instill fear; only to affirm that your clutch may be really old and worn, and it's always better to be preventive than corrective if you can afford it.

I've seen cars that weren't beat on go past 200k on the original clutch, my G35 currently is at 172k on the original clutch. If you're at 176k, that generally means the previous owner(s) weren't very hard on the car, didn't leave the clutch pushed in at lights, etc.

I similarly wondered about my G35 since it has similar mileage on the original clutch. Maybe change it as preventative maintenance perhaps? The consensus seems to be if it isn't slipping, don't worry about it. You generally get enough notice its going out that you normally won't get stranded somewhere.

I just bought a 2006 6-6 a few days ago. And at 188K, the clutch is DEFINITELY slipping. I’m not sure if it has ever been replaced before. But in the service records I was given, I’m not seeing it. Looks like this is something I will be doing REALLY soon. But given the price I got on the car and the condition of the motor (cleaner in the valve cover than many motors with HALF as many miles), I’m not complaining too much.
