Just got it installed yesterday! I gotta admit, past searches on here left me worried about droning issues and it being way too loud but it's the opposite! It's WAY TOO quiet. When I turn on the car you cant even tell I have an exhaust, even when I accelerate you can't hear it.. is that normal lol?

Also, is it supposed to have time to "break in" to get louder? I wanted a quiet exhaust and nothing too loud or ricey but this is just VERY quiet.. to the point where it's literally so quiet that I felt like I might have my stock exhaust on :eek:

Anyone with any input on this? I got it installed for $100 and gave the mechanic a tip on top of it because he did a great job and I was happy but it's so quiet!!

Instead of starting another small thread for exhaust I figured I would add to this one for people thinking of installing the Magnaflow #15824 on their accord v6 coupe.

I installed Richie's jpipe/test pipe and the cat back magnaflow all at the same time so its difficult to say which mod created more power. There is noticable gains throughout the powerband, not as apparent as internals and cams obviously but still feels peppier.

As far as appearance? simply beautiful! polished stainless steel mandrel piping and shiny 4" tips that IMO look better than any exhaust for this car I've ever seen. The round look of the exhaust is not my taste but it tucks under the rear lip so well that all you can ever see is the tips.

As for sound? very very pure tone. Nice and smooth throughout the powerband and at WOT it starts to sound REALLY MEAN! I don't have a CAI so I cannot vouch for how it would sound with one installed but there are several videos on youtube with this catback + jpipe + AEM V2 for you to listen to.

*****The major problem I've had with this exhaust is that I had ZERO restriction from the pre-cats back so I found the droning resonance from 2000-2600 RPM UNBARABLE! on the hwy it hurt my ears and I found myself trying to keep my speed down and minimal pressure on the pedal to reduce the noise. Thats great for fuel economy and all but I like to have fun in this car. THE SOLUTION: I found installing a 14" X 3" CHAMBERED resonator in between the magnaflow resonator and Y-pipe (where the exhaust turns on a 45 degree bend) made this exhaust perfect for me anyway. At start-up you can tell I have an exhaust, revving it has the same pure tone as before but w/o the annoying drone. HWY speed you can barely tell I have exhaust which is how I like it. WOT: sounds even better than before the chambered resonator! sounds like an exotic sports car almost when that vtec kicks in.

The chambered resonator is 409 stainless steel and was installed for 100 bucks (including the resonator) and was by far the best part of this exhaust upgrade. Maybe some can handle the drone but I couldn't even talk on my bluetooth it was so loud. My personal conclusion: If you decide on this exhaust, expect high build quality, but I would consider installing a chambered resonator.

PS. I noticed while adding some resistance back into the setup there seemed to be more of a torque gain than without (possibly from the addition of back pressure).
