Hey my old intake just sucked in a lot of water cuz of the storms we've been having lately. I don't want any more damage done, so does anyone know where i can buy an intake online that will be shipped to me in 2 days? I am looking for am aem v2. I did look for some sites but they said they needed to order it from AEM directly and it would take 5 business days. Any suggestions? Thanks!

well if you are worried/having problems with water in ur area i wouldn't get a V2...it will do the same thing...and you don't have to worry about damagin your intake...you can just replace the filter on the end if you want but it is the engine that you need to worry about damaging and hydrolocking....so if your problem is water you need a shortram or just to avoid water...i have a V2 and am in a very wet area that is prone to flooding and i have never had a problem...so I'm not really following why you need a new intake unless you want to get a short-ram

I suppose if your car is okay by now then it's okay. I imagine you have a CAI that sticks out at the bottom front bumper? (like the AEM V2).
Don't worry about your filter. If it's dirty then just clean it.

If you're concern about safety, then you can get a bypass valve for your CAI. It prevents hydro-locking by opening up a bypass in your engine bay so the engine would suck air from the bypass valve and not water from the CAI.

yea but the thing is if he wants a V2 then the bypass valve isnt an option...at least that is the way i understand it...if it is going to be an issue with water...and if you have a CAI you should avoid water that is more than a puddle....if this isn't how you do it IMO you probably shouldn't have a CAI because it may produce a little more power than a short ram but that isnt worth hydrolocking and having to get a new engine...i have an AEM V2 and we have flooding bad around here and if there is water on the road that is even a puddle i avoid it..don't take any chances

you cant put a bypass valve on the V2 tho... you can on the V1, well you can put one on the V2 but u will infringe on the performance of it and would need to cut it too

If youre still running, youre fine. If water gets in there its done on the spot, not a few weeks later. And you have to fully submerge that thing, and then rev for problems. Not just a puddle splash. I wouldnt sweat anything, just dont drive in deep water.

if youre in a puddle deep enough for the v2 to be sucking up water, then your feet will probably be wet as well.
