Honda will fix the display for free. This is a known TSB and you can find it in the TSB Sticky.

Z3RO, I've been to 3 local Honda dealers here in California. I've mentioned the TSB. They still want $350 to do the repair (even after considerable complaining). How did you get this repair for free?

Call Honda of America. It happened to me too. They sorted it out for me and called the dealer themselves and arranged an appointment.

What local Honda dealers are you going to? I've mentioned this to my service guys out here a couple times but they never mentioned that it would cost anything.. I'll have to look into this now..

MEJ, If you can't get Honda to fix that radio display I do have the original radio out of my '07 Accord EX if your still interested..? I just installed an iPad Mini (using the new double din kit from Metra) so I have no need for it... just pm me or reply to this post.

still no fix or mod for being able to use stock door with this unit?
Got this when it was $300, no regrets. Until last week, might need an update as I am sweating my leather seats apart with no cold in 100* + weather with hotter to come.

Wallyworld,
I am Very interested in your solution to keep the bottom cubby door functional. I am planning to get the Metra dash kit and install a double DIN Alpine GPS.

Just to clarify, you believe that it is the corner of the bracket (and NOT the double DIN unit itself) that gets in the way of the lower cubby door? I'm not sure I understood that in your pics. Could you by chance show a few of those telling pics? I'd sure appreciate it.
I did not install a double din, only a single din with the pocket. With this configuration, it is the bracket that interferes with the cubby door. The double din unit might be larger than the single din/pocket combo, so I do not know if the double din will interfere or not. Sorry....

After making all connections start the
vehicle. Press and hold the rear defrost
button until the LCD display starts
flashing. At this point the kit is learning
the type vehicle it’s connected to (so
don’t touch anything!). The LCD will
stop flashing after 30 to 60 seconds
and the kit is now programmed. This
is so the kit identifies whether it is in a
manual or auto climate system.

I think I got it for $125 from crutchfield because I go the head unit also. Like Ike said, to program just hold the rear defrost button until it starts blinkings. After I first installed it, it was only blowing cold air. After I disconnected the battery, finished amp install, and hooked battery back up, it was working perfect. I haven't had any problems since with cold or hot air. *Fingers cossed it stays that way* I also got the lower pocket and I think it looks pretty good installed, much better than the old crap single din one
