hey guys, i'm interested on this intake system called secret R weapon intake. What do you guys think about this intake system? please give me an idea. thank you
you can fabricate your own using home depot stuff for less than 20 bucks. Only difference is you get to show people when you pop your hood open you spent 200+ on an intake
or you could see a decrease in performance since you dont have a single smooth intake route
theres a reason that the better brands cost more, its R & D... I dont recommend spending more than 100 on the intake and filter, but why cheap out completely
if you're not going to spend money for an aem or injen or k&n cold air intake, keep it stock. don't go cheap by fabricating your own stuff unless you know what you're doing.
AEM/Injen or "drop-in" K&N or straight stock.
I have Weapon-R stuff on my DD Corolla, but think my AV6 deserves better (now that I compare it to other brands).
According to Shenaniganz08 you will be losing hp cause only those +$200 cais have the "correct" bends. Maybe he thinks the way the car sucks in air makes a difference?
One consideration is that i live in NYC and my car is daily driven...if i put AEM v2 or injen CAI and I drive accidentally over the water...is it gonna make a problem to my car ? because sometimes i have no choice when i am on a flooded highway.. thx
i would leave the stock intake if you live or drive through flood zones during the rainy season. just not worth the mind games if you know you're going to be driving thru flooded roads.
SEARCH... and you will find your answer. unless you planning on driving on a flood that will submerge half of your engine then YES that will be a problem.
Uh, I don't think you said that right. This is how it should read. Unless you're planning on driving into a flood that will submerge half your engine, then NO, it will not be a problem.
You'd have to submerge nearly the entire air filter for you to hydrolock your engine. When you go through a puddle just coast through it and you'll be fine as long as it's not a two feet deep puddle.
In my Integra I had an AEM cai with a properly installed bypass filter. Yet when I was driving in a torrential downpour and drove through one of those flash flood water areas on the side of the road, my engine bogged and almost died, suggesting it still sucked in water. If you have to, just keep the stock intake on with a K&N drop in filter or something, they are proven to increase HP also.
i was talking to a kid on cardomain that had the secret weapon, he seemed less than impressed. no noticable power and it didnt have much sound. he said he was ugrading to a CAI.
just ordered a fujita cai today. will let everyone know how it is once i put it in
