My 2003 V6 Automatic has a weird problem. At full throttle or anything that takes it to 5500 rpm it acts like it is hitting a rev limiter at 5500rpm and will not upshift till I let off the gas. Does it in all gears. Going 55 or so and flooring it will make it go to about 6000rpm then just falls on it face till 5500 then bounces on a limiter at 5500rpm. No codes stored at all. I called Honda and they have no idea. Any help would be nice. Thanks.

Check your oil level. When these engines are low on oil, VTEC will not engage and the rev limiter kicks in sooner.

Exactly what TH23 said.

My cousin had a 99 Accord Coupe 4cyl and his would not go past 4000rpm and would hit the rev limiter in all gears. Turns out he was low on oil and his oil light didn't even come on. His accord though was a POS and was consuming oil at a rate that I haven't seen before lol. It was the most beat down accord there ever was lol! Poor Honda.

It is topped off and full. Maybe I need to reset the ECM to figure it out. It does use some oil. about .5 to 1 quart every 1000 miles. Not sure whats going on there. No leaks or seaps no smoke nothing. New PCV and use Mobile one. Been like this since about 50,000 and now has 90,000. Honda says it is normal. Would like to figure this out also. I will reset the ECM and see what happens. Thanks

Pull your upper intake cover and look at the area where the PVC connects, do you have "Wet" oil there? If so you may be getting a little excessive blowby on your rings, I would do a leakdown test on your cylinders.

That sounds like the tranny is gettin ready to let go. I would def. take it to the dealer and see what you can get done under goodwill consideration.

My car has 91,000 on it. But all seems well right now. I changed my oil two more times and and has been fine for about 1000 miles now. Who know's what it is.

I had a similar thing happen and Mine was low oil. All of a sudden it felt like a rev limiter, I checked oil and was really low, but no light telling me. I drive 170 miles a day but no smoking, etc...
