its really hard with that budget. i would look around for some used equipment or look on ebay. you can probably get a decent amp for 200 bucks and the rest on speakers.

go to the shop and listen to the speakers. see which ones you like. its really hard to tell you want speaker to get because everyone will have a different opinion on what would sound good.

$350-450 for the whole setup won't get you much better then stock. It may be louder, but that's not necessarily better. Okay speakers go for about $80 a pop and that gets you up to $320. We're talking a cheap amp to stay under $450. My setup of polk momo components front and rear along the the polk 4 channel amp cost around $1300. $400 for each pair of speakers and then $400 for the amp. They sound awesome. I would recommend saving up for a really good setup. You've had stock speakers for awhile, what's a few more months. And whatever speakers you decide to get, I'd recommend staying with that same brand of amplifier. Just my personal preference. And like someone else said, you're best off getting an aftermarket head unit if you want to get the best out of your speakers.

that is very true. the first thing i upgraded was my headunit and it definitly made my stock speakers sound better.
