Looking for some suspension ideas. I wont be doing this until the spring becuase I dont want to be plowing snow for the winter.
Basically I would like to know how HFP suspension matches up to other things out there, like tein etc.
I am thinking that something adjustable would be good, so i can have it as high as possible in the winter and drop it for the summer.
Any suggestions? I'm really in the dark here. Did some reading but it just made me more confused.
As well, if i lower it with something (struts and coils) like the teins, would I need a front and rear chamber kit? and thus would i need new UCA's?

P.S. this is for a 4-cyl, but i figured more people would look here, and it's about the same.

First thing first: what do you want to achieve with the suspension mod? Look? Performance? Tracking the car? Factory comfort (within reason obviously)? Height/firmness adjustability? Some other things? Also, what's your budget?

Without these, it's pretty difficult to see what we can suggest you.

definately a better look (putting on the aero kit and going to do wheels/rims next spring - no point now, the winter tires are going on in another month or so). i would like something that is also comfortable, not too rough.
Needs to be adjustable (we get REAL winter here - lots of snow - so it would have to come up for the winter, and drop it for the summer).
I dont really want to spend 2k on these or anything, but obviously am going to have to spend a bit.
How does the factory suspension (HFP) match up? - not adjustable though right?

Let's address these conditions one by one.

You want to raise and lower the car twice a year. It means you'll have to get an alignment twice a year as well. Are you OK with that?

If you are, you'll have to buy a set of adjustable coilovers. With adjustable coilovers, more often than not, the ride will be very firm. If you live in the area with a lot of bad roads, it may not be a good idea for you.

If you don't want to align the car twice a year, get a set of mild lowering springs with aftermarket shocks. Eibach Prokit will retain much of your factory ride quality. Pair them with Koni SP3, and you can adjust the height (although you have to remove them from the car to raise/lower the car) and you can also adjust the rebound rate.

There are a few issues with HFP suspension. These are made for V6. If your car is an I4, your front end will look like stock or pretty close to it. It's also not height or damping adjustable.

Alignment isnt a big deal, only about $70 a year or so here, or less.

So if i want to lower this a couple of inches (1-2), am I going to need a front/rear chamber kit so i am not wearing out my tires?
What else am I going to need?

right now the list is something like:
tein ss
front/rear chamber (ingall)

anything else?
