Umm, just noticed you guys now have the thermoblock spacers on the v6p.net store. But gee, the pricing is actually MORE than getting them from the very people that make the product?? Umm, shipping included??

$101.00 or $95.00, I think i'll choose the $95.00

Maybe it's just how I learned how to run a business, but you don't make any money for selling things at cost.... Plus it's $6, that goes to support V6p.

You're making a pretty big assumption that the price on outlaw engineering is "cost" price, ie, the price that's paid for distributors to purchase a product from the manufacturer and then sell it at a higher price. And yes, the money does go to v6p.net, and it's only 6 lousy bucks, big f'in deal, right? But then again, one of the points of the v6p store was to get the products at lower prices. Look at the comptech sc. Curiosity, curiosity..

It's $101 because we're including the cost of shipping ($6). Outlaw doesn't allow us to sell it for lower than $95 UNLESS we do a group buy. We do try to get things lower, but we also have to follow the rules that manufacturers give us, otherwise, we get our supply cut.

BTW, I fixed the problem with the quantity, thanks for pointing that out.

On a level from 1-10, how hard would this install be? I have minor mechanical experience and have a buddy with all the necessary tools. Is this something that can be done in a few hours with a few beers? :)

I know with Hondata on my RSX-S, they dynoed 5whp with just the intake manifold gaskets, so I definitely feel this is worth the money. More cold air = more consistent power. So I'd be down to buy if this is something I could install myself. Thanks

I don't think it's too hard. I heard it's a pretty easy DIY. But I remember reading that one member here had a problem with the install and removed the springs or something on the IM, which isn't good. But the instructions that come with the product are suppose to be pretty straight and simple. I think Platnium has this installed, maybe PM him.

On a side note, I'd be interested in a Group Buy for this...

i emailed them regarding a gb already..

Kiet,

Thank you for your interest in ThermoBlok spacer kits. We would be very interested in helping to facilitate a bulk buy with you. What forum/group would you be targeting? In general, we prefer at least 20 buys. Due to the already low price on the AcuraHonda J-Series kits, we would probably only be able to offer a 10-15% discount. Shipping in the U.S. is a flat $6 for US Postal Priority (2-4 day) delivery.

Best regards,
Sean Morgan

So to do the quick math, we're looking at around $80-$85 + $6 shipping, IF we get 20 people. I'm interested, just another 18 needed. Hope this won't turn into another Strut Bar GB...

so a GB would only save us 5-10 dollars? seems like it might not be worth it. But count me in regardless. If it takes too long I might end up buying one anyways.

I'd probably be down for a group buy. I'm probably goign to get it either way - $15 bucks savings is nice, but its not terribly expensive as it is.

I would just like to say I am a little dissapointed in my spacer kit. I've had it for about two weeks now. After about 20 minutes of driving, yes the manifold is definateley cooler, but once you start driving a little longer the manifold becomes too hot to touch again. It seems that this product only reduces the heat for a small period of time. Can someone prove that this spacer still does anything after long periods of times?

a thermometer would be a good way to test it..

I don't think it was ever ment to make your manifold cold to the touch. There is no product that can do that that I know of. The purpose of the spacers is to REDUCE the temperature, thereby, possibly giving some gains.

Besides a thermometer (As SCMORGAN how to wire one to measure temp), the best way to tell is to do a dyno run for before and after install. That's the best way to tell if there is a difference.

As of yet, we don't have an independent V6P member that has done a dyno on this yet, so we don't have the data. However, if you goto their website, I believe the did a dyno for an Acura CL, whose engine is similar to ours.

hey guys, after doing some research, aka whoring the car forums I visit on a regular basis.

I came across a GB for the thermoblock spacer on acurazine.com

the price is 85.50 + 6.00 shipping.. 91.50, not bad huh? save 10 bucks?

http://www.acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=310050&page=1&pp=25

is there any particular reason this same GB isnt available on v6p.net? well anyways. Cheers everyone. I dont know if its gonna get any cheaper then that. I will probably be ordering soon!

If you recall, Kiet was trying to put together a group buy on V6P as well. However, somehow I doubt our own group buy will ever reach the 20 minimum required.

I was just informed about the group buy by Outlaw Engineering late last week. We would like our members to also attend the group buy with Acurazine so they can reach their numbers faster. I'll be in touch with the Acurazine folks on this as well.

Please feel free to spread the word to other members about the group buy.
