so does this mean that all the carbon that is not going back through the combustion cycle because of the EGR block off is going straight out the back... which might form faster deposits in your exhaust and down pipe... could this affect anything over time

Well, if it did effect anything in the exhaust, which would you rather have, a engine full of extra re-burnt carbon all over you intake, valves and pistons which are big $$ to replace, or your exhaust......

Long term effect: no exhaust soot build-up (carbon build-up can be caused by many other things). May fail smog. Will fail visual inspection and cause police hassle. No real performance gain.

I will make these avalible to whoever wants one, the cost will be $100 shipped which will include new correct legnth bolts and new EGR valve gaskets. The inlet will be 1/2" hose mipple so you can connect it with eaither a simple breather element or route a hose to the intake. I will pull together a step by step when I install one on Kai's car this Satruday. The hardest part of the install will be removing the existing studs, you have to take the two nuts and lock them against each other on the stud by tightening them against each other and then trun them out like bolts. Anyone interested please PM me.

i think 3.56th gen had it along with one or two other ppl since the beginning of the thread. i'd like to see some intake manifold pics to see how little carbon is in there now

I opened up my IM a couple weeks ago when I adjusted my valves and there was remarkably little carbon compared to my old J30A1...maybe due to the Seafoam at 110k miles, but I have 145k now. I cleaned it out but there wasn't that much to do thankfully.
