How big is the stock exhaust piping?

How big is it now to the mufflers? Is it 1 7/8? Are the muffler pipings pass-thru the same diameter in size?

Would removing both resonator and pre-muffler and replacing it with a 2.25" staight pipe to the 'y' be beneficial for both performance and sound? Or should I stay with the stock size?

2.0 for stock exhaust piping. my shop measured it for me.

I currently have exact setup that you are asking.

Resonator removed, y-pipe and mufflers replaced with 2.25inch piping + 5 zigen axle back exhaust.

sounds pretty loud. I dunno about gains
ok, almost same setup(minus the 5Zigen)...what do you think about the stock Y pipe and stock mufflers and 2.25? Wonder how that would be, or should I say 2.0 all the way thru since I'm sure the muffler inlet/Y pipe are 2.0inches.....

sorry..I mean...my exhaust system is stock..factory everything.
All i want to do is replace the resonator and pre-muffler with a straight pipe in its place...either 2.25" or 2.0"

Question is which one do i go with? Since the rest is stock piping (Y pipe into the 2 mufflers)...is it better to use a bigger(2.25) going into the stock piping or use the same diameter(2.0) into the stock piping.

Hope that cleared things up.
