I have 2 layers of %5 tint on my back windows. At first I only had 1 layer of 5% tint on the back windows but still found it too light during the day time atleast. i found people could still see into my car relatively well and if they put their face up to the glass could see what i had in my car.

So I added a 2nd layer of 5 % tint of my rear windshield and the 2 tiny windows, now even during the day time with your face against the glass you cannnot see anything in the back of my car and at night time even if you take a flashlight and shine it in and than put your face to it it is still almost impossible to see into. I really like, as I can keep all my junk in the back without worrying about people seeing it, I can even throw my garmin gps back there in plain view int he back seat and you cann not see it at all. Even at night time with the lights inside the car(ie map lights, dome light, dash light) are on you can hardly even notice that they are on at all unless you really really loook, my radar detector placed up high and that hyou cann't see at all either at night,

only problem is that it is really hard to see out of especially at night time, but now that i'm used to it it is not really a big deal at all.

my front sides are 30%,

does anybody else have double limo tint here?

i had double 5 all around and loved it

its hella dark but u get used 2 it as the time goes by, ur eyes even adapt and can actually see at night hahaha

my fav part was that i could turn on my interior light at night and people driving next 2 me wouldnt have the slightest clue that i had my lights on hahaha

10+ fix it tickets later (all which got signed off) i took it off it wasen't worth getting pulled over every week, although it did look cool :)

why would you compromise your safety and the safety of others with such dark tint? I understand it blocks out heat, but there are other alternatives that will block out just as much, but without compromising your safety and without the constant fear of getting harassed by cops of tint.

I lived in Taiwan for a summer, and EVERYONE had limo tint because it was necessary. Even then, you can't see ANYTHing!

i think the compromisation of safety is relative......
I consider myself a good driver, better than many drivers who have no tint at all, yes it does make it harder to see, but if you take that into account shouldn't really significantly compromise your safety...if you are a really good driver

also, 2nd layer of limo tint made a huge difference in terms of heat, atleast for me,

I had full limo tint, all the way around, including driver and passenger front doors, on a previous car. Won't ever do it again. Could not see out of the car at night. I had to roll the windows down to make turns and/or stick my head out the window to back-up. Not very safe.

As it turns out, my brother was driving the car on a cloudy overcast day, around 3:00 p.m., and pulled out in front of a pickup truck going about 50mph and totaled the car. Luckily the truck hit him right on the left front wheel. Any further back and it would have killed him. The pickup truck didn't have headlights on and because of the tint, my brother never saw the truck coming . . . tint if you want, but its illegal for a reason. Looks cool, but is not safe. I wouldn't do it or recommend it to anyone. :nono:

Two layers of 5% tint is effectively and practically speaking a blacked out window.

At the first layer, 5% of visible light gets through (95% of visible light is blocked).

Then that 5% of visible light hits the second layer, and another 95% of light is blocked.

You effectively get a tint of 5% * 5% = 0.25% (one fourth of one percent)

A tint rating of 0.25% is effectively a blacked out window. :)

I used to have double limo on my old ride and it was cool on really really sunny days. However, driving at night was VERY dangerous. Not to mention getting pulled over time after time got old.

I could do double tint now, but what would be the point? I think 20% all around is just fine, and it gives a nice general look.

I've had my 20% for 4 years, and haven't been harassed once. :up2:
