I couldnt function without my tints. And one of my favorite things ever is the tinted windshield:

+1 (Mike car looking sick as usual).. I have 5% on the sides and 15% in the rear.

I have 5% all around. And everything from the front windows back I have a second layer of 5%. I also have a strip on the front windshield. 5% FTW

Two layers of 5% tint is effectively and practically speaking a blacked out window.

At the first layer, 5% of visible light gets through (95% of visible light is blocked).

Then that 5% of visible light hits the second layer, and another 95% of light is blocked.

You effectively get a tint of 5% * 5% = 0.25% (one fourth of one percent)

A tint rating of 0.25% is effectively a blacked out window.

I used to have double limo on my old ride and it was cool on really really sunny days. However, driving at night was VERY dangerous. Not to mention getting pulled over time after time got old.

I could do double tint now, but what would be the point? I think 20% all around is just fine, and it gives a nice general look.

I've had my 20% for 4 years, and haven't been harassed once. :up2:

i think the compromisation of safety is relative......
I consider myself a good driver, better than many drivers who have no tint at all, yes it does make it harder to see, but if you take that into account shouldn't really significantly compromise your safety...if you are a really good driver

also, 2nd layer of limo tint made a huge difference in terms of heat, atleast for me,

My car came with 8% all around.. so dangerous at night I couldn't see anything.

I just got my car retinted with Huper Optik a couple days ago. My 35% blocks out just as much infrared heat as your 5% tints but without compromising visibility and I won't get harassed by cops
