for people who got the swap, do you guys get this much mileage too?

I'll fill her up maybe about 15Gal, from then on I'll get 420+ miles from her on the freeway and around 350+ on street/frwy before the tank get's empty. Is that normal? What grade of gas do you guys put? Is it awesome to get that much mileage? feedback asap...

sorry to sound like a n00b but i'm trying to understand this better...
*he's not going to destroy the cylinders if he doesnt go below 12, meaning the richer he goes the better chance of destroying the cylinders?
*"just burn a hella lot more fuel" ... doesn't it burn more fuel if it goes down for A/F instead of up? i don't know much about tuning but if i remember my high school math.. Air to Fuel ratio, the more fuel added the smaller the ratio ... I.E. 12:1 add more fuel 12:2 which is = to 6:1, so the ratio # has gone down ... unless i'm missing something...? again i'm just trying to learn...

SIG? I thought you knew better than that.

Always Tune it, regardless of mods. You should have the A/F ratio checked and/or tuned so you don't damage the engine AND to maximize your current mod setup.

I tuned on a Friday after my Top End swap was finished on Wednesday. My travel back from NO.VA. put enough cam break-in miles on the heads, so I was able to Tune just 2 days after the swap.
I''ll need to tune again when I have NVA-AV6 stroke my bottom end.

Efficency, raising the compression, proper porting, basically extracting all the power avalible from each combustion cycle. Those numbers have been verified independantly by two seperate owners. One driving from here in DC area to Dallas TX (PigPig000 43MPG), and Kschwiggy from here to his parents in Jersey (37-41MPG depending on traffic)

Now, when you put your foot into it, yeah 5MPG......

AFR Air Fuel Ratio

First number is the parts of air by volume, second is the parts of Fuel by volume, so for exapmle 14.7:1 means you have 14.7 times the volume of air vs 1 part fuel, when you go richer you have less air for each part of fuel so at 12:1 you are burning about 20% more fuel than at 14.7:1.

Once you get below about 12:1 there is too much fuel in the charge to burn so it starts pushing past the rings and "washing down" the cylinders removing the oil layer between the cylinder walls and pistons allowing for piston to cylinder wall contact thus wearing the two against each other, I am sure you can figure out from there what a bad thing this is. You can also get it so bad that you thin the oil with gas which will cause bearing failure.

had my wideband installed last wk, and fcukkkkkk ! the gauge's going deep sometimes playing from 12-11 on gradual stepping on gas, but when i punch it to wot @ 4500RPM i'm seeing 10's ! The car feel's like chocking... On normal driving (not pass 4500RPM) it's around 16-13... wtf is going on???? should running higher gas octane help? (doubt that) HELP !

wow i can't believe you are not tuned still. like Paul said, get new 02 sensors, stick with Densos, or NGK. Bosch = European crap that gives improper readings. Also replace teh spark plugs while you are at it. They are probably fouled now. Get Denso IK22, or equivalent NGK.

than you definitely need to go see a tuner.

Please spend some time reading and then come back.

Thank You.
