key word bolt on and 13.2 with gutted car....lol ur funny the maxima im talking about got complete interior.

Honda make better overall car than nissan in term of build quality and reliability but these days nissan's v6 are far more superior than honda v6 dont forget 1 thing the J-serie is an economical v6 with some performance the new Vq is made for performance.

im an honda fan but im realistic VQ > over any J performance wise

^ Actually that particular 08 Accord had full interior as well. He had bolt ons/untuned. If he were to have a tune I'd see no reason why he couldn't have ran 13.0-13.1 @107. He trapped 105 with bolt ons, which is insane for an Accord. You're confusing that 8th gen with Cubanob, running a gutted 7th gen.

I've also ran a revup (05-06) G35 6MT with ART test pipes/3in single exhaust (possibly more) and was ahead by 1/2 car on 1 run and a fender on the next. 1st run was a 40 roll and 2nd was a 20 roll. Probably my best run to date.

Read what sonnick said

And I disagree with you somewhat. #1 I don't believe a Nissan VQ V6 is far superior to the J-Series V6. #2 They are both excellent engines. #3 VQ isn't superior to any J series performance wise but is in some applications.

For example compare the J35Z in the accord V6 6MT vs the VQ35 in the Altima 6MT. The J series uses a SOHC vs DOHC for the VQ yet the J series makes more power on the dyno. Also the Accord weighs around 100lbs more than the altima yet it has run faster times in the 1/4 mile stock vs stock.

The VQ37 has the edge over the J37.

Just my opinion.

I also owned a maxima and now own a murano so I am not biased!

VQ has continuous variable valve timing too

all im saying is Honda need a new v6 engine, the J is a good engine but is getting old, Honda badly need something more powerful even the new impala's ****y GM engine got direct injection and 300hp on 3.6 engine...all im saying is honda need to wake up fast...next year we will see if honda learned some things with the new accord.

DI on a 3.6 and only 300hp is pretty pathetic TBH. The J37 in the TL makes 305hp and it doesnt have DI.

I do agree that the J is getting old and Honda knows this. A new v6 is rumored to be coming out within the next few years. But its still a good motor stock and a pretty potent motor if you know how to open it up. There are quite a few NA Js in the high 200s/low 300s at the wheels. Im not a fan of the VQ, and from what I gather, it take boost to make real power with it.

my CL 6mt ran 14.3 stock and was as fast as my friend 06 G35 with intake spacers and exhaust after i did intake headers pulley i ran 13.9 and G35 was far behind me from a roll :2cents: 8th gen accord 6mt are fast some of them run 13.7 stock with proper launch... compared to 5at its like day n night my friends has modded 09 v6 accord 5at and beat him everytime

I think Honda needs to work on the 4cyl more than the V6's. The
V6 holds its own without much issue. Honda used to be king with the 4cyl market and they have let the ball drop. The 9th gen Civic is a prime example.

The 3.6L DI that GM produces only yields 83.3HP per liter. That is on par with the J37 and my J30.

My GF eats G's and Z's with ease in her '09 6-6. I/she wont even bother unless it is a 3.7 anymore. J pipe is the only mod so far. We havent had a race with the 3.7 6mt G with the sweet ass brembos' yet, any of you guys had a chance?

So you seek out races ? Lol... sounds kind of unsafe, but hey who am I to speak I'm a 19 year old kid who watches Fast and the Furious.
Not hardly brotha.... Everyone in LA drives nuts and we watch/turn down dumb **** way way more than go for it. Last "race" we had was a merge onto the freeway with a guy in his 50's driving a 37s coupe. After he lost, he waved and we waved back with a thumbs up. I enjoy freeway interchanges and on ramps, the rest is cruise control. Ya gotta get it out sometime :p
