hey im kinda new to this whole thing but can i swap out my j30a1 for anything stronger? like somtin thats not a J series
if you want to be smart and get the most bang for your buck, you can def get a lot of power out of a properly built j engine. we're talking like 350 hp at the crank from an N/A engine that's been stroked using oem parts.

but for enough money, for all it matters you can get 3000 squirrels chained together to pull your car.

But if you want a nissan engine, buy a nissan. If you want a corvette engine...buy a corvette.

or a miata. and stick an LS1 in there. :D

also: don't double post. posts have an edit button for a reason.

ya i know i get that but i love my honda and it pisses me off when some rich sixteen year old pulls up in daddys beemer and i got no chance cause my accord has a limit of 368 hp max i want my accord but i want a engine that can at least pull 500 600 horses easy

alright then would it be better to swap in a j37 or this that crapped up too

or would it be better to build my j30 and get a 6sp manual tranny for it
if you want good j power, your going to need swap in a j35 or preferably a custom j37 by NVA-AV6, one of our most experienced and skilled members on this forum. he lives in VA i believe.

a modded up j30 won't break 250whp at best. and thats's with a supercharger. a turbo can make higher numbers though, but you'd need the turbo setup to be entirely custom. greddy doesn't make one.

edit: make a thread and introduce yourself, i like what i can see in the small pictures of your car. what bodykit(s) did you use?

i got prowler body kits but i smashed my car recently and need a new paintjob after fixin up the body but im dyin for more power haha and ive tried startin a new thread but its not workin for some reason i just found this sight and i cant stop readin this nva av6 guy if i get him all the parts how much can he build me one for cause im in college and im real tight on my budget right now

if you want serious power, swap your engine or force induction it. This is going to run you $4,000-8,000 depending on what you want to do and to get it done well. If you want just a little more pep, get an intake, headers, exhaust, pulleys, chip, etc..should run you under 1,000 total if you buy used.

i have intake and exhaust but my car right now is basically a complete ricer i was young and went for the fast and furious thing haha dont know anything about cars and didnt care as long as i got a sweet lookin ride now im pissed i blew all that money when i coulda went for some serious performance do you know sights where i can find engine block parts or like somewhere besides junk yard ya know and im really interested in this NVA AV6 guy wat exacly does he do does he build the engine and sell them or he just swaps them or wat

o and i know about the comptech supercharger but i hear it doesnt do all that much although if your tryin to pull out as much horses as you can its worth it

start a new thread man, or pm me. i dont think this is the right place to be having this convo. this thread has already turned to crap due to a lot of new people just bringing up stuff thats not exactly on the right topic.

so i read through most of this ish, and it seems like theyre all hybrid motor swaps.

what if i just bought a 3.5L from an 02-04 odyssey? could i just drop the whole thing in?

i guess more importantly, will the j30 ECU be able to control a j35?

"Hail the king" was towards thinjim as he dynoed at 464whp on turbo CL-S 6MT ;)

As far as Unichip, going to try again late April as tuner failed to show up at my Dynojet facility. BTW, he requires $300 fee for a tuning.
who ever wrote this was the cls 6mt on the accord or on the acura? im a lil confused?

You could perform a straight swap from a Odyssey and go for lower costs; however the Crank internal parts are cast. For rock bottom low end, Go w/ forged Acura RL internals, possibly MDX internals also?

No, you will need a J35 ECU; J35 is a different platform. I think.

However, depending on your engine mods and performance goal, AEM FIC may also need to be used for a piggyback. Unichip might even be another option with a good tuner - if you are close to one.

Just woundering, what makes the TL-S diff from the CL-S heads.
I know that they have diff part number's, but what really makes them diff?
TL-S and CL-S both use motors with engine code J32a2, so their engine components are identical. not sure how come you saw different part numbers.

Hi guys,
I still not understand between cast part and forged part.
we know J35a4 is cast engine and MDX or RL is forged engine,so what the diff between them and how bad is it if we buy cast engine?
Thanks alot guys for explanation and sorry for dump question.

Just asking because, the TL-S is a auto and the CL-S is stick, so the cam gears might be diff, thats why......I think they are diff part numbers.
I know that they have the same block, and belive me, i looked and searched a long time befor posting this.
