And what about the oil jet spray system that sprays oil on the RL pistons to help keep them cool. Would we need that as well to help reduce detonation from occuring or anything bad from happening?

With the RL pistons you come out with a 11:1 compression ratio. What head gaskets can be used to bring it down to about 10:1 ?

The 01-02 Odyssey Block should have no problem fitting the 05' RL pistons with the J32A2 head on it correct? I just purchased the 01-02 Odyssey block from RDX and the head from Aidan. My next step was the RL pistons if they drop in perfectly like they do on the MDX blocks.
Odyssey '01 block fits Type S heads ;).
BTW, looking at complete assembly block from '02 Odyssey and it's different part # than '01 Odyssey. But 01 Odyssey is proved to be working (TAG) so I assume it's the best fitment.

'02-04 Odyssey crankshaft/rods part # are the same, and '05 RL piston fits '02-04 Odyssey rod.

Tuning with safe AFR and IC if going FI should resolve the issues.

If going to drop CR you need thicker gaskets and/or retard timing. Which thicker gaskets who knows. But I'd keep 11.0:1 CR it's great for NA and even some blown M5 with that running intecooled 7psi

What's the difference between the "PISTON SET (OS 0.25)" and the "PISTON SET (STD)". Which one is the correct one to buy? Here's the link

OS means oversized (in that case extra 25mm) from original. They made confusing changes over the years. I highly recommend getting '05 RL pistons ($50 each) for 3.5L swap.

And Odyssey '02-04 crank/rods

What block are you going to use?

Anyway, 2002 MDX lists (acuraautomotiveparts.org)
Product #
7465 RISTON SET (STD)
7483 RING SET (STD)
7640 PISTON SET (OS 0.25)
7540 RING SET (OS 0.25)
7806 ROD, CONNECTING,
8016 CRANKSHAFT
8389 PULLEY, CRANKSHAFT

2001 MDX lists as:
Product #
7640 PISTON SET (OS 0.25), $79.87 (each)
7540 RING SET (OS 0.25), $101.49 (each)
7806 ROD, CONNECTING, $87.27 (each)
8016 CRANKSHAFT, $487.94
8389 PULLEY, CRANKSHAFT, $72.45 (each)

So rod/crank/pulley are the same between '01-02
The pistons/rings are OS for '01 and match '02 OS, so I would use them.

And why don't you get '05 RL pistons/rings and confirmed Odyssey parts I've
suggested? They less expensive (combined) vs MDX, RL pistons don't require
modification and the rest Odyssey parts are exactly the same quality as MDX.

This is what I use:
2005 RL (acuraautomotiveparts.org)
Product #
444618 PISTON SET (STD), $50.47 (each)
444619 RING SET, PISTON (STD), $32.67 (each)

2002-04 Odyssey (hondaautomotiveparts.com)
Product #
368269 ROD, CONNECTING, $79.48 (each)
368270 CRANKSHAFT, $367.32

You also need a new set of rod and crankshaft bearings ('02-'04 Odyssey) along
with head gaskets depending on which heads you're going to use.

In addition, I use 2003 CL Type S BLOCK (auto) - J32A2 due to better sleeves.
Of course Odyssey block can be used from 2001 and 2002-04 should be double checked just in case but looks like fine fitment.

Whats the chance of getting a j35 block with j32 heads to a 9.4 or lower CR? This is the only thing holding me back on deciding on j32 block or j35 block.

That depends on your goals. ThinJim is the one who building his 3.5 CL-S 6MT with solid deck sleeves, low CR internals and adding a turbo kit  All parts are custom and expensive.

You can get high CR what' I'm getting installed now and raise the boost to no more than 7psi to be safe with good AFR.

BTW the difference between J32A2 and J35A* are just crank/rods/pistons the blocks are the same size except J32A2 sleeves are better in terms of heat dissipation. I chose J32A2. There are also differences in cranshaft/rods for 3.5 as well as blocks. I found 03-04 MDX and '05 Odyssey doesn't fit

Well goals are to drop CR down enough to push a lot of boost. 11+ maybe in the range of lets say 15-20.

So let me get this right. You're using the 3.2 Block w/3.5 Internals and 3.2 heads. Whoa this is getting confusing!

You gotta a link for ThinJim's plans.
Crank/rods make 3.5L, blocks are the same ;)
