I got my recall letter in the mail yesterday, it informed me that parts would be available in the dealerships in early 2013. I will apparently receive another letter letting me when the parts are in and how to schedule the recall work for the power steering hose.

Does this recall letter still apply to say, a 2006 AV6 Coupe? Is there a time limit to recalls? I bought my 2006 AV6 in September 2015, previous owner did not take care of it, or probably was so car-maintenance-ignorant, that he didn't know how to take care of it. So, I'm about 99% sure no recalls were taken care of.

Call up a dealer and give them your vin, they will repair it free if your vin is included in the recall. Takes about 2 hours once the part is in. Doing mine tomorrow.

One added note: if you're in Canada and bought a car that was imported from the States earlier in its life, you might have difficulty hearing about applicable recall campaigns or getting them done. My '07 EX-L sedan was imported by a previous owner in 2008. When I ran the VIN on the US Honda site the power steering hose recall came up as applicable and not completed. Ran the VIN on the Canadian Honda site and it said I was all good, no applicable recalls. Went to my local dealer and the service writer was very honest with me: "Honda draws a sharp line at the US/Canada border. We usually don't hear about US recalls even though the cars are virtually identical. Is there any chance you're planning to be in the States soon? If so, it would be a lot faster and easier for you to get the recall done down there. We can do it, but it'll take a few weeks of paperwork and hassle." I knew I would be headed South a few weeks later, so I said OK.

Called a Honda dealer in the state I was headed to, gave them the VIN, asked about recalls: "Yes, we show the power steering hose needs to be replaced on that car". Made an appointment, they replaced the hose, no fuss, no muss.

The tensioner idler pulley seems to be an on going issue in the 7th generaiton v6 honda accords. Now that I have forced induction i really dont think the pulley can handle the torque. Dont know if its the actual belt slipping or a bearing in the pulley going bad. You can hear a loud screeching noise as I put my foot on the throttle coming directly from that area nothing internal. I replaced my gates belt with a Dayco belt that was supposed to be revised for the noise issue along with replacing the tensioner but still no resolve. My car runs fine but judging by the screeching sound, seems like an issue that needs to be taken care of soon. Does anyone have any solutions.

Original link to the article no longer exists. I took to the dealer but they didn't seem to be a whole lot of help. Is there a way to check online by running the VIN? I've got an '06 AV6-6 and the OP doesn't seem to include the later 7.5 gen models, just the 03-04.
