For that money, why not just swap in a VQ? You're already doing custom mounts, wiring, and exhaust. VQ's a hell of a lot cheaper and there are more mods available than the J-series engines.

...just a thought.

Yeah? What about drivetrain genious? The engine itself would be a custom fit. With those money much better buy used VQ vehicle since it costs nothing now and build the sh\t out of it

Let's say i wanted to go with the J35A4/J32A2 combo, and take the CL-s 6 speed tranny...would this combination work, inside a 98 CL (the older generation), or would it be too much of a hassle? Has anyone had any experience with this type of combination? What problems would i run into? What would i be missing, like would i need different engine mounts, a new ECU,

^ If you are starting with the 3.0L version the engine and trans should just drop in, what is going to be interesting is the shifter, linkage and clutch hydralics and pedals. was the 1st gen CL avalible in a 4cyl MT?

Contact Cocoa on Azine he has done it.

^i will contact him...and yes, the cl was available in 4cylinder MT. Just thought i could see what i could work with. When my engine gives out one day, i'm going to invest in this swap. Not sure how difficult it would be, but i wanted to see if i could give it a shot...

You would get the clutch master cylinder, pedals, resevoiur and shifter from the 4cyl, cables, slave cylinder from the CL more than likely and then fab up the clutch hydraulic line.

And a J35 + 6sp in that light of a car will def be fun.

does the 6sp tranny cl-s 03, tranny bolt up correctly with the j35? Right now, i'm riding on tein basics, and i don't think the front coilovers can support the weight of the new engine if i get it swapped. Any thoughts on this? I'm not sure what else i need to reinforce/replace so that the engine's power doesn't break down other parts of my car haha. My buddy did a k24 swap, and his rsx couldn't handle the torque...messed up something of his, i forget.

oh...when you talk about the shifters...are you talking about the shifters for the car when i shift up and down gears? Because, the 4cyl came only in 5spd haha. Sorry, sorta noobie at engine swaps :tomato:

J engines are all about the same weight, in fact you would be lighter in the front by a good 100lbs due to the weight diff between the 4sp AT and a 6sp MT, the MT is much lighter. The CL-S/4th gen TL/ 7th gen AV6 MT will all bolt up to the J32A2,J35A3 and J35A4, all of these are possible engines for you.

ok guys I been read all this front first page until last one and some make confuse me,ok I have 6speed MT from 7th accord and will bolt up to J32a2,J35a3 and J35a4.
just say,I want to take J35A3 or J35A4 and that engine I can get from oddy '02 - 04,right? and this some my question for MR.NVA-AV6 ( I knew it,you know alot about honda engine and I had been read on your project J35 with J32 block, that inspired me alot man but I don't want so complicate like on your project rebuild the engine,I just want to buy the whole engine and swap it w/o rebuild it ) This my question,

If I take J35A4 do I need change my header and catalytic like on your project?
can I use engine wire and ECU from accord '00-02' to use on J35A4?
If not, is it the accord dash wire connector to ECU will be fit on oddy ECU,like direct swap?
What the mount engine I should use? (like on your project or use OEM mount)
I have to use alternator from Oddys,is it direct swap on mount alternator and how about the conector wire?

I think Thats all question in my head right now and all input I would appreciated from any member specialy from nva-av6. Thanks everybody
